Difference between dry and dehydrated skin
People are often confused between dry skin and dehydrated skin and often consider both problems and their treatment to be the same. It is important to understand the difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin, although the two terms are sometimes used interchangeably. Skin is said to be ‘dry’ when it lacks sebum, but ‘dehydrated’ when it lacks water or hydration. Dry skin often results in a feeling of ‘tightness’, in some cases with the presence of flaking. Dehydrated skin, on the other hand, can manifest as a dull complexion, with more visible wrinkles.
